Ascent Trip ReportMy final Wainwright!
Having climbed all the higher and more famous hills in Lakeland over an extended time period I scheduled this perfect pocket-sized hill to be the one on which to complete. A grand summit location with mixed botanical, geological and historical interest. A low-key gentle but nevertheless delightful autumnal ramble in unseasonably warm weather, shared with family members and rounded off with celebratory tea, cakes and more substantial snacks in the Yew Tree Farm Flock-Inn Tearoom in Rosthwaite.
I'm so pleased to have summitted all 214 hills. I certainly feel that the endeavour has facilitated getting to know all corners of the Lake District in all seasons and conditions. However, I’m equally pleased that henceforth I can just re-visit those hills that I wish to of my own choice and in optimal weather.
