Ascent Trip Report

We drove in using Jobe's directions which worked well enough. As we began ascending the actual mass of the Prophets we noticed a sign on the left which read "James Sullen Memorial Wildlife Area". The highest area might be in this protected area. We continued on the road, or rather, two track until we met a gate that was posted. We parked here, then walked north up a gully. We passed one E-W fence right away, then continued on up the gully to where we turned right up the slope and topped out at BM THOM. A flock of pelicans flew over us while we were on the summit. There were many cattle lower down by some lakes to the north. We went back to the car the way we came. To get back to the paved road we went a different way. We backtracked west until the first good dirt road heading N-S. We turned left (this is 6th Ave NW) and went south 3.4 miles to ND200.
