Ascent Trip Report

Today I hiked with my friend Patty. We started around 6:30am and it was about 35 outside. It was a very muddy hike and started out cloudy. We missed the cairn to hit Seward first (it's so small, you can hardly tell) so we wound up going to Donaldson first, it was very muddy. When we reached the peak we were in a cloud and there was ice on the trees so we went back down the path and found our way to Seward.

As we hiked to Seward, the sun came out and the temp started to rise. We hit some black ice on the way but the views were spectacular with all of the fall colors!!!! We hiked up a small waterfall, it was so gorgeous!!! The views were amazing!!! This peak was the most difficult to climb.

We headed back to Donaldson where we were greeted with an amazing view at the peak of all the gorgeous fall colors!!! The ice was melting and falling from the trees at this point. We proceeded to Emmons, this hike was fairly easy, a bit muddy though. Once again, we were greeted with a clear view of Adirondack Park in it's fall splendor!!!!

The views made all of the mud worthwhile. We headed back to Donaldson (3rd time!!) and descended back to our cars. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!!!
