Ascent Trip Report

Yesterday Josef Biner and I hiked (3.5 hrs)from Sunegga ( chairlift from Zermatt) to the Taesch Hut via Tufteren and Taeschalp. We left the hut at 3:20AM, heading for the Allalinpass and a fairly easy, mostly snow ascent of the Allalinhorn. During a short summit stop (8:00A-8:15A)we could see numerous climbers ascending from the Langefluh (2870m)above the Saas valley. Next we descended to the Feejoch (3826m), trekked over the Feekopf to the Alphubeljoch (3846m), finally topping out on the Alphubel at 11:15AM after a fairly tiring climb. However, it was an easy return down the Wand (?) glacier to the Taesch Hut (1:15AM) and Taesch, where we caught the 4:00PM train back to Zermatt.
