Ascent Trip ReportStarted from parking lot at 9:19. Leisurely hike up wooded, damp Long Trail to bag the Chin, with lots of French Canadian company. Distinct change in temp when we reached coniferous forest. High of roughly 45F at the peak, but very windy. Views were magnificent and unobscured, both at the peak and along ridge walk. Doing the ridge walk is definitely the way to go for this hike. Probably bagged the Nose by walking up the comm towers service road. Decent partly on ski trail and then along a narrow, wooded, beautiful trail - parts of which were a mini ridge line. |
