Ascent Trip Report

Took the long path and at 3000 Ft. tried to bushwhack up to the snowmobile track as mentioned in David White's version of the climb in "Catskill Day Hikes For All Seasons". Well, I never found the "snow mobile trail" or for that matter the purported plane crash sight, so I just kept climbing until I ran into some vague herd trails as I neared the summit. At the summit confluence of trails(twilight park trails I am told) there was a piece of an airplane (very funny!). Hiking down to the south I acquired Hurricane ledge and was rewarded with that awesome view to the Devil's Path peaks and the Hudson Valley(Wow!!!) ate my sandwich and then went back up to the summit and started down to the north(very steep and wet). Some nice views to the Blackhead Range. Uneventful on the long path back, just wet for about a mile.
