Ascent of Mount Grant on 2015-09-12
|Others in Party:||This was the annual 9/11 challenge.|
|Date:||Saturday, September 12, 2015|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||11280 ft / 3438 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI participated in the 5th annual 9/11 challenge. There were about 25 participants.
I asked about climbing Mt Grant any other time. I was told you can. Just call the army base's GOC office about a week in advance of your intended climb. You will arrange a time to meet and a guard will unlock the gate for you.
This is good news if you do not want to wait until next year's 9/11 challenge. Remember this is an active military base. You should not set foot on it without permission.
