Ascent Trip Report

2 rope teams of 2. Basic mountaineers climb.

We lost the boot path twice on the way up between source lake trail and pineapple pass, so we did a bit of unnecessary bushwacking and talus hopping. We stayed on the boot path on the way down, since it is easier to see from uphill.

Not too crowded Tuesday. I think there were 4 parties of 2-3 total the whole day, besides us. No traffic jams because there are enough options going up and down. Just below the summit, I took the "thin left facing flake" on the right while the other rope lead took the catwalk route on the left. The flake route is currently marked by two stuck cams. We both did the climb in 4 short to medium pitches.

On the 3rd or 4th rappel (down a ledgy pitch) we got our rope stuck just 10ft above us on a ledge while pulling. I climbed up on a belay to retrieve it.

We didn't rapp through the east gulley into pineapple pass from the base of the climb (considered dangerous), rather we down scrambled the way we came on the west of the notch.
