Ascent Trip ReportThis is a straightforward and easy hike, but it's enjoyable because of the location.
We rented a car to visit Virgin Gorda by road, leaving from Leverick Bay and going all the way south to the Baths, Copper Mine Point, and stopping at Gorda Peak National Park on the way back. The trailhead is only 800 meters from the summit, but the trail is very pretty. You can see huge local spiders, countless hermit crabs (yes, at over 400 meters of altitude, in the FOREST!), myriads of lizards, birds of all kinds, and so many other things...
At the summit, there is a lookout tower and all the Virgin islands are visible, from the flat coral island of Anegada to the very distant St. Croix. A little way back down there are picnic tables where we stopped for a lunch.
A hike from Leverick Bay out and back would be a very easy task, done in less than a morning's time.
