Ascent Trip ReportWith Jan. Heavy thunderstorm the day before. Got up early with plan to return if any evidence of storm came upon us. We camped at Timber Creek in the first spot and hiked from there, so we added almost 3 miles to the hike. You can drive up the road to a good primitive campsite with plenty of room for multiple cars. Our GPS didn't record the last part of our hike. Hike can be summed up in 3 parts; first, up stream draw, very lush and beautiful; then long hike up loose rock but not nearly as steep as Moriah so no danger of falling down a slope; then a small dramatic knife edge with spectacular drops but again very doable to the top. I should note that most of the hike we could view South Schell but did not see North Schell or Taft until we got near the top.
