Ascent Trip ReportA standard hike up with all the mountaineering gear, except for many more crevasses than normally. However, this was my first climb to reach the very summit, as "just hiking" would not be enough. Without rock climbing experience and proper gear, reaching the summit would prove impossible. On the way up (and down) in one place there was a ladder over a major crevasse. Scary.
We were a team of 5 people climbing Gran Paradiso on the day. There were many others who have successfully reached the summit on the same clear day. |
