Ascent Trip Reporttried to get up to Richwood Knob and the lookout tower on Bull Mt. In Stuart VA i turned off of US 58 on 765, Rhody Creek Rd, and then again onto 687, Tudor Orchard Rd which becomes Bull Mountain Rd further up. I tried to turn off of Bull Mt Rd on FR 2884, but vehicle travel was barred by a locked gate. I reversed course and returned to Rhody Creek Rd and then turned up Fire Trail Lane. Fire Trail eventually ends, but a left onto Lookout Lane presents itself. Unfortunately, further vehicle travel is again barred by a locked gate.
Believe I will write to the Dept of Forestry for their guidance on gaining this summit. |
