Ascent Trip Report

Day 3: Left high camp at 5,400', ascended through brush to 5,800', took steep gully to the left, tops out in 600' to a steep basin, another 600' into the upper basin. Very pleasant upper basin with lakes. Gained ridge on hard scree, went right of towers, gained ridge again then scrambled ledges and gulleys until 4th class face. Pretty stiff for a few feet, would take small nuts (#5, #7), one person free climbed then belayed the rest. Traversed around left shoulder (exposed) to ridge to true summit, descended and then scrambled gully to the top. Original paper from 1940 first ascent still in register! Rappelled from summit on sketchy slings, another rappel on 4th class face, then descended route, very steep at time, moved camp to Bird Creek at 4,200'
