Ascent Trip Report

This is my third time visiting this relic beach dune highpoint. The historic highest ground is disturbed and cut so the country highpoint may be around elevation 80 now. But as far as I can tell, it is still the legitimate HP of this county as this dune seems to be the highest hill along the coast.

To make this third trip more interesting I created an early morning workout. I parked at the federal building and then jogged down the subdivision to the edge of the river to enjoy watching the sun rise over the water. I ran down Highpoint Drive to Westchester Drive then on to Indian River Drive. Then I jogged under the Beeline Bridge (SR 528) to the south an entered Sunset Lane. I jogged up the hilly terrain of the relic dunes in the area as well eventually to the deadend on Skyline Drive at about elevation 70 feet above the water again. Then I ran back to to the Indian River and made my my "trailhead" at the water's edge underneath the bridge. Then jogging all the way back and up to the what is left of the Hihgpoint just beyond the federal buidling. On the way down, i was still feeling good so I explored and ran along some of the other steep grades in the area and then back to the car.
