Ascent Trip ReportI parked at a wide spot on the highway where my GPS gave me a readng of 1.3 mi. from the hp coordinates. It is possible to start at least 400 feet higher back up the highway but with at least twice the distance. I hopped a fence and bushwhacked up several steep slopes to the remnants of a forest road that meanders through floral covered meadows. Wooded top with no views but views along the way and the high mountain meadows beautifully bedecked with flowers were worth the trip alone. |
