- 5th Adirondack High Peak I have bagged
- 6th state high peak I have completed.
What a fantastic hike. The trail to the top is well maintained, easy to follow, and mostly easy. Only the last half-mile of the ascent is challenging. We hiked this trail on a Monday to avoid the weekend crowds and were rewarded with a relatively empty summit. We were the 32nd, 33rd, and 34th people to summit that day.
We had lunch at the top, enjoyed unbelievable 360 degree views and relaxed for a while before descending. There is a trail steward at this peak during peak season to remind people to respect the alpine vegetation, and to provide a lot of useful information about the native flora and fauna.
I would recommend this hike to anyone who enjoys hiking, as long as they can handle 15 miles in 1 day. |
