Ascent Trip Report

Second COHP today. One big obstacle: the owner's house.

I obtained permission to park at KOA campground. I pretended I was interested in using the overgrown trail they have. Hint, shortest way park by pool walk between pool and building through pine trees to the woods. Follow the trails through the woods around the high banks of the stream. When you see the pasture across the stream, cross there. hop the fence on the other bank. I stayed near the trees of the pasture to stay out of sight. From this perspective it appears the ranchers covered cattle food trough sits on the high point in sight of the house. Google maps points to the area of the trough as the high point.

My approach: I continued around the pasture staying just inside the trees until I was past the food trough. I approached the trough from the backside opposite the house crouching low. The last 60 yards I had to crawl on all fours through the grass as to not be seen from the land owner's house. I felt like a lion stalking a zebra on the African plains. This method worked, but a little rough on the hands and knees. The cow and wasps at the trough were friendly. Watch out for cow patties and thorny dew berry vines.

Possible alternate approach: Go at night during full moon enter the neighbor's drive to the North. The back of this house backs up to the cow pasture. This maybe shorter.
