Ascent of Backbone Mountain on 2015-07-04
|Date:||Saturday, July 4, 2015|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3360 ft / 1024 m|
Ascent Trip ReportA pleasant hike up from road, hiked up with dog Chunk. There are signs for a "marker #3" as well as the highpoint, so I hiked to "marker #3" and discovered that the rocks there are extremely slippery. It is a triangular concrete marker that marks the point where the border to West Virginia takes a turn.
There is a nice view just prior to the summit, but you don't know it if it is cloudy.
