Ascent Trip Report

We parked at the Wachusett Mountain Reservation Visitor Center and took the Bicentennial Trail from the parking lot. This trail linked up shortly with the Pine Hill Trail, which we followed to the summit. The path up the trail was fairly steep (600 ft. elevation gain over about .6 mi), and extremely rocky. We chose this trail to save time because we planned to hike Grand Monadnock later in the day and it was the shortest path up to the summit. At the summit we reached the Worcester, MA county high point and enjoyed panoramic views from the summit observation tower (Even though the overcast weather obscured visibility somewhat).
