Ascent Trip ReportLots of deadfall in the gully, including many downed large trees to climb over. We hiked in the gully and along the old road where feasible. Found one tick on my hiking friend's clothing. When you finally get out of the gully, the hike is almost over--just a scamper up White and South Peak. The road--3N17--at the top of the gully looks to be in good shape (HPS #2). If I were to hike this peak again, I'd definitely do Route 2. Getting up that gully is work--so many obstacles in the way. Some wildflowers still in bloom--Prickly Poppy, Indian Paintbrush, Purple Nightshade, Yerba Santa, etc., added to the variety of this hike.
