Ascent Trip ReportOn 6/13/2015, Brian, Ozzie and I met at Chapel Hill and drove to Hanging Rock SP. My plan was to go to Hanging Rock first by Hanging Rock Trail, then, take Wold Rock Trail to reach Wolf Rock, House Rock, take Cook's Wall Trail to hit the trail end point of Cook's Wall. At this point, we found many wild blueberries. We picked up bunch and ate! We returned back on Cook's Wall Trail, pass House Rock again. Reached to the trail junction to take left turn on Magnilia Springs Trail, 0.4 miles or so walked on MST, then, take Moder's Wall Loop Trail to reach the highest point on the SP which is Moore's Knob(Fire Tower). Then, we stopped by Balanced Rock a bit, then, hiked to the lake to the parking lot. We stopped by visit center and purchased a patch (5 outlook points challenge) which costs $2.50. It was very hot day, I soaked and wet due to my sweat. We finished 5 hours for 10+ miles loop hike. We came across with a cub(baby bear) on the way to go!
