Ascent Trip Report

A moderate LT hike with a bushwack .... 3 miles, 2 hours RT.

From Hazen's Notch (CR58) I followed the LT northbound as it climbs 1.2 miles to the north side of the mountain at a saddle (44.84722,-72.52241), where I took a magnetic south compass line and wacked .3 miles to the summit. Open woods with some underbrush, not difficult. I was on animal paths off and on, a lot of moose droppings.

The summit has 2 bumps, the HP being at the east one (44.84406,-72.52101), its glass jar canister was last signed-in by "Talbee on 11/25/13", I signed in but with the wrong date.
The other bump, 40 yards to the west also had a canister .... the very small plastic bottle had some water in it, the papers inside not legible.

This summit offers very limited views and has had few visitors. Not much to offer, so I would rate it "for peakbaggers only".

This was my last climb of this 2 day trip. After getting cleaned-up and having a snack I drove home, going west to Montgomery, Swanton and crossing back into Canada at the Alburgh for the quickest way back. I was home before 18h00 hours .... Rose had a nice pasta dinner ready for me, on tap tonight was watching the last 2 days of the Giro that I missed.
