Ascent of Spruce Mountain on 2015-05-17
|Others in Party:||Gudi Quinlan|
|Date:||Sunday, May 17, 2015|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3020 ft / 920 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe haven't been up to this tower since New Years eve way back when the family did our 'Slide into New Years'.
Today was much warmer and greener
Gudi arrived to a packed parking area and I started up the trail at 11:30 am.
The first part of the trail is nice and wide, not rocky and pretty flat.
The middle section is alot of bare ledge and then some rocky steep sections, but no hands needed.
We arrived at 12:30pm with only one other group at the summit.
We took a look around from a very nice open area and then headed up the Tower since it was empty.
Had some great views and the slight breeze kept the bugs away.
We then had a nice lunch on the open section below and headed back down at 1:15pm
We were back at the car at 2:10pm
Very enjoyable hike.
