Ascent Trip ReportNOTE: Stats for the whole loop are here.
On 5/17, I did a loop hike over Mounts Washington and Clay. I started from the lot on Base Rd, taking the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and the Crawford Path to the top. Down low, below 3,000', there was no snow (although the whole trail below the trees was very wet). From 3,000' to the top, the trail had intermittent snow- some patches were quite deep. Only used spikes for one short section. Above treeline, there was almost no snow.
This ascent of George was unique in that the it got more clear as I climbed; usually, it got more socked-in as I climbed. By the time I got to the top of Washington, there were great views all around!
Took a 45 min. lunch break on the summit and then headed over to Mt. Clay.
