Ascent Trip ReportA last blast of winter. Intermittent hail showers, snow line about 600 metres (all fresh) and very blustery. However, good visibility between precipitation with 70-80% cloud cover with base at about 950-1000 metres. As usual in The Lakes I climbed every summit and cairned top to ensure I'd done all the summits both true and Wainwright.
Parked at St Martin's Church and spent a few moments in this simple Grade 2* listed building and looking at its 1.300 year old yew tree. Thence a quick up and down ascent of Steel Knotts (Pikeawassa) followed by an anti-clockwise round of Beda Fell, Angletarn Pikes, Brock Crags, Rest Dodd and finally The Nab before descending directly over the nose back into Martindale (while avoiding all red deer and Dalemain Estate employees as there is no public footpath on this final section).
