Ascent Trip ReportThis was an overnight backpacking excursion with my two youngest boys and their friend. The Stratton Brook Road was very muddy, so we parked when we saw the first trail sign. As such, we ended up taking the wrong trail up and had to traverse the ridge an extra mile to make camp. There was much more snow in the higher elevations than we expected. Thankfully our snow soaked shoes dried out underneath the shelter with the overnight breeze. When hiking out, Jeff almost lost one of his shoes during our shoeless ford of the Stratton Brook Pond outlet.
