Ascent Trip ReportGoing up to Cardigan from Firescrew had its own challenges, but overall I didn't regret not going back down the Manning Trail one bit. The ridge walking made the extra gain well worth it- so many good views and a lot of ledgy goodness! Once on the top, I hung out for a bit and caught my breath, then headed down the Clark Trail.
Overall, the Clark/Cathedral Forest/Holt combo was MUCH easier than the Manning Trail, despite being longer and having more snow/ice. Easier grades and better footing made it so. Back down to the Lodge in an hour. |
