Ascent Trip Report

After work on a Thursday. Great hike where you quickly leave the 'burbs and get into nature... I met Gabe at some crappy strip mall off the 8 around 1:30 and we carpooled out to the trailhead - well signed and ample parking. I have not seen Gabe since I left 29 Palms in January 2013, so it was great to catch up with an old friend. We only saw 2 other pairs of hikers on the whole route. Summit views are amazing: Cuyamaca Pk, Woodson Mtn, the Pacific Ocean, etc... There is a nice post marking the summit in the boulders. Of note, this is my first CA peak since I have relocated here from Seattle - a pretty great way to ease back into SoCal peakbagging! Pics
