Ascent Trip ReportBoy Scout backpacking trip. Camped first night at Deafy Glade then drove to the trailhead and backpacked in. Set up camp at Summit Springs (~6500'), then with day packs, ascended summit. Part of the group continued on to the west peak, while others returned to camp. Broke camp Sunday morning and hiked out.
Was a little nervous about whether we could find water at Summit Basin, but the springs in the basin were still flowing. It had snowed as far down as 6,000 feet the weekend prior but it was virtually all gone. There was only a small patch left on the peak, which the boys used to have a snowball fight, of course.
