Ascent Trip Report

Left Syracuse at 5:15 am, arrived at the trail head at 8 and started hiking at 8:15. Kind of a gray day - overcast but no rain, temp was about 40.

The trail was icy and has seen a lot of use this winter. Everything was melting and the sound of the runoff was a nice reminder that it is finally spring!

Made it to the summit at 9:30 but there was no view because of the mist. Much of the summit was coated in a a very fine mist of frost/ice. Climbed the fire tower although the cab was locked.

This ascent completes the Fire Tower Challenge for me! 18 Adirondack fire towers and 5 Catskills fire towers, although there are a few more I would like to do.

Left the summit at 10 and arrived back at the trail head at 11:15
