Ascent Trip ReportFound the trailhead easily. Needed snowshoes almost immediately. Made good progress. Its a nice trail, logs of streams, everything was covered with snow and the scenery was great. Clear skies. There was lots of light left in the day and we almost attained the ridge leading to the summit but Macy started licking her paws and I noticed an abrasion on one front paw and one back paw. I knew it was a decent walk back and the snow would irritate her paw more so we turned back.
The dogs slept well on the ride back. Macy's paw had the little wound for awhile. I read online that wounds on their paws heal slowly.
