Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Eagle Hill is the 5th highest named highpoint in Louisiana. It was a fun summit for my son, Marshall, and I with a 25-foot observation tower and a benchmark across the road where the ruins of an old metal tower used to be. I tried 3 times to take a 10-second shutter delayed photo of me on the second level of the observation tower with Marshall on the top level. It appears I will need to purchase a camera with a 30-second shutter delay if I ever need to try something similar in a few years! There were good views in most directions from the observation tower. I have no idea why it was built, but it helped raise Eagle Hill to our second favorite highpoint in Louisiana. Driskill Mountain was our favorite.
