Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Giddens Hill is the 9th highest named highpoint in Louisiana. This summit is located in a private campground where my son, Marshall, and I were met by a very disagreeable campground manager, which made us wonder how she got any business, but she allowed us to visit the summit anyway. We parked about 150 yards away, but we could have driven to within a few yards of a small observation tower about 5 feet high, which provided some meager views through the perimeter of trees around the summit. We also found a benchmark stamped "No. 4," but that is the only one we could locate. |
