Ascent Trip Report

To reach the trailhead from Las Vegas, turn left at the crossover at mile marker 6 on highway 93 on the Arizona side of the Colorado River. This is called Black Joe Mine Road. Follow this road for about 2 miles until you reach a junction. The road that goes up towards the mountain has been closed with two wood posts. This is the trailhead. The route follows the obvious ridge line all the way up to the summit. Don't attempt to drop into the washes on the way back. The ridge line provides an easy route with a little scrambling and no bushwhacking.
