Ascent Trip ReportFun peak. We parked at the Slabby Acres Trailer Park and hiked across the desert to the south ridge. This ridge was ok hiking about 2/3 of the way up and then it became a little more technical than what we wanted. We ended up on a long traverse on the east side and below the ridge top to avoid the technical sections. The summit is actually the second bump along the ridge top. On the descent we bailed off the ridge and headed down a scree slope losing about 600 ft of elevation before entering a drainage. We followed the drainage down to the flats and then hiked back across the desert to our trucks. It looked like an approach from the drainage that separates Pyramid Peak from this Wilderness would work also, but we left that route for someone else to explore. |
