Ascent Trip ReportThis was our fourth and fifth objective point (after Phil BM, Norte BM, & Cody BM; see those trip reports).
This report starts at the saddle just north of Phil BM. We are side traversing the first half on the way to Pike Benchmark Summit. After a little ways we seek and find a section marker (~N33 18 31.6 W116 30 04.2). After the section marker the side stepping traverse continues. It is slow going due to footing as well as bush/boulder avoidance. As we approached the final 100' elevation gain, route finding becomes difficult. The route can quickly become class 3. After reaching the highest bump, it is relatively easy stroll over to the summit. We signed the register and ate lunch. Got some great photos of F18s flying below us thru the canyons. After lunch we headed east down to Pike Benchmark (see Pike Benchmark trip report)
