Ascent Trip Report

First Colorado CoHP. I was driving from SLC to my friend's house in Arvada and this gem was right along the route. It took less than 10 minutes off my overall travel. Apparently it has been unseasonably warm across the Rocky Mtn west. It was 65 in SLC the day before and was pushing 70 in the Denver area today. I left my vehicle without even the thought of grabbing a jacket as I had been driving with the windows down for quite a while anyway. I walked from a large dirt lot just west of the intersection back to the intersection and took some pictures while propping my camera on a fence post. I then crossed the street in the crosswalk to ensure coverage of this human-altered ground and touching the HP. I received weird looks from drivers when I took the timer photo on the fence post. Apparently it is not common knowledge that this is a county high point. It is also a reminder of why I doubt I will ever finish a state with a lot of urban or farmland points - just not worth the effort unless you are driving past like I was. Pics
