Ascent Trip ReportContinuation of my hike around Rabun Bald area. From Flint Knob East, picked up Bartrum trail heading south. Bushwhacked from the high point of the Bartrum Trail to the east of Flat Top. Pushed through the brush to the western side rock.
My initial plan was to hike to Salt Rock Gap via the trail that is indicated on the map from the road to the east of the gap. Unfortunately the road was not passable for my car. I'm not sure a normal SUV could get past the rutted out area without bottoming out. Anyway, on the Bartrum Trail, I didn't see the trail so it probably is quite wild now. |
