Ascent Trip ReportNot sure of the date exactly but I know it was around summer of '94. My Mom and our neighbor Tim were taking the family for an outing at the Sunrise part of the park. This was the first time I laid eyes on Mt. Rainier up close. I was forever enchanted by it. Ever since, I've made hundreds of drawings and paintings of it, obsessing about a mountain, even climbing it in 2010. Every year I make an attempt. Without this hike, I don't know if I'd be interested in mountains the same way. |
