Ascent Trip Report

Public land, no gates or signs. Took the obvious route from the E. From 101 take 30 N then left on 3006 heading N. This road was oddly soft, loose and muddy. Could probably do it with a car but might sink in a bit. Or hopefully it will become compacted. Park at the turnoff for the 4WD drive road which is not driveable at 1600'. Follow this more or less to the summit. Road starts out with some downed trees and branches etc. Undergrowth is light here with grasses and moss on road. Not too bad. As you round 2476 on the road, sticker brush and downed trees get progressively worse. Slow going by the time you make the turn and are SE of the peak. At this turn, you can walk up road maybe 50 feet and then cut up and left as soon as you are past the mossy devils club patch. Work into the forest and then you are fine. Moderately dense trees in pungi stick forest with no ground vegetation. Easy walking uphill to summit. The summit is pretty pronounced and obvious. Reversed the route with no issues. Blech peak with no views and some unpleasant bushwhacking. Road will only get worse.
