Ascent Trip Report

CA Co highpoint number 53. Had two experienced climbers in our party we could not have done this without. Leconte Ledge route. Hiked to Palisade Basin and camped near water at 12000' flat area just over Thunderbolt Pass. Started a bit late, about 7:00a and summited about 3:00p. Made it about halfway down and had to bivouac on talus slope. It was a cold and uncomfortable but calm High Sierra night. Headed back to camp as soon as sun came up. Packed up, and down to South Lake Trailhead by dark. Long three days but well worth it!
