Ascent Trip ReportI parked at the Wilkinson Memorial Trailhead on Route 9D hoping to walk all the way north to South Beacon Mountain. Unfortunately, I lost the trail near the frozen waterfall about a half mile in and went very far before realizing I was lost. This turned into a 2 hour bushwhacking nightmare just to find the trail again. This put a damper on the rest of the day and I decided to end my hike at Sugarloaf which still had some amazing views. The trail further on was basically a frozen river and I didn't have my microspikes so I turned around.
