Ascent Trip Report

Last peak of the year. I have finished 2010, 2011, 2012, and now 2014 with a peak on New Year's Eve. Nate and I had a farewell lunch for a colleague and then headed to the nearby Issaquah Alps for one of our last after work peaks on the Cascade side of the Puget Sound. With our impending transition to Bremerton, our after work hikes will have to be in the Olympics.

The road had a few inches of snow on it all the way to the point where we took the East Tiger Summit Trail to the top. The snow was packed down from tires making it a bit icy in places, but we made good time anyway. With the blue skies and sun out, we were able to clearly make out every feature on Rainier. Trees block views of the Snoqualmie area from the summit. We encountered a few other hikers and mountain bikers. The mountain bikers are brave for skidding down the icy roads...

Also of note, this peak completes the famed Issaquah Alps P1k list for me - all 4 easy peaks that are on that list...
