Ascent Trip Report

Well a nice walk in the woods but four things made this not so fun:

1) the drive is long and requires a lot of narrow clay county roads. They were slick and had deep drainage cuts on both sides and many times not enough room to pass another car
2) I poorly misjudged where to start my hike and parked too far away from the HP
3) Once I found Chambers County CR 174 and turned off to CR 78, the conditions got worse. Not only narrow and wet, there were Orange clad hunters everywhere. I saw more than one dead deer along the road, carcass left and beheaded.
4) I stepped over the gated access road to the HP cluster and did not see the thin and taunt cable under the downed tree and it skinned my shin and tripped me to the ground.

A nice view up there near spot one, but I wanted out of there quickly as to not be confused with a quickly tagged the clusters and got down and back to my car.
