Ascent Trip Report

Kessler Mt. Rd. (W. Kessler on my map) cn be accessed off 265 south of Fayetteville--steep and rocky after the last house. The topo map show a 1856 bench mark, but the spot indicated is below the top. There'a small filed on top with electrical equipment and a nice stone house maybe abandoned, but if so only recently. I initially wandered up dirt road about a half mile north of Kessler because a sign there indicated a Kessler Mt. Trailhead. I went to the parking area where signage explained that there is a 600+ acres wild park on the mountain's north flank with extensive trails but the summit area is not part of the aprk.
