Ascent Trip ReportWhat?! No trip reports for this gem?! Not much to report. I got off work early and headed home with the idea to grab the road bike for a ride in the perfect weather - upper 40's and not a cloud in the sky! I rode from lower Queen Anne to the east side of Lake Union, then across to the U District, through UW, then up to Green Lake. From Green Lake, I headed towards Finney Ridge, hoping to catch a path to Fremont and then home. Near the top of Phinney Ridge, I whipped out the trusty smart phone and field-tested the peakbagger ap. Flawless. It showed that there was indeed a minor bump nearby - Phinney Ridge. I rode up on to the sidewalk to attain the high ground. There is a sidewalk close enough that I did a touch-and-go, but saw a higher spot in the bush. I walked over to it. Whatever, lame bump. I rode down to the nice hill to Fremont, then across the bridge to follow the ship canal trail back to the interbay trail and home. I took a few excellent pictures of Mt Rainier with the sky lit up with the colors of sunset. Nice day out for a ride. Total mileage: 21 miles.
