Ascent of Peavine Peak on 2014-11-09
|Date:||Sunday, November 9, 2014|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8266 ft / 2519 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe started out with a plan to run it. Ben, who I was with, regularly runs Peavine and had been trying to get me to go with him for about a year. I agreed and couldn't handle it. After about two miles we mixed running and walking. I didn't really prepare well with food and water, so I was the problem the whole time. The descent was mostly a run, but I was worn down.
It's a tough route for a run, but a great one for a hike until you hit the road. We saw some guys on quads who were a little weird and freaked us out a little. On the way down there were about 10 deer together wandering through. That was a cool sight. The weather was tough at the top, as it started to get real windy and cold from a storm we saw to the west. We had to hustle down to avoid it getting too dark, but made it and did so in a decent time.
