Ascent Trip ReportEasy hike for the first 2.5 miles or so and it's pretty flat. The last part of the hike is pretty nice where it actually gains some elevation. Right before reaching the top there is a short trail that gives nice views off the side.
I was disappointed that the fire tower was closed. The bottom two levels of stairs had been removed and there was an official sign stating that the fire tower was closed. I asked Dad and he said it was open when we hiked it years ago. I truly hope they repair it and reopen it some time soon.
The views to the east were very nice. The snow on the ground made for some awesome pics.
Saranac Lake 6er #4 for me and Dan.
