Ascent Trip Report

Not the greatest day. We couldn't hike Saturday but we still wanted to get out so we chose a small trail for Sunday - Adams. The trail to the river had 2 inches or so and was soft but not mushy, it got mushy as we continued our approach to the cabin. Once we reached the junction the trail gradually gained snow but never more than 6 inches. The worst part was that the forecast of fog breaking up and a sun/cloud mix was delayed so we hiked up in warm 35 degree fog which made it tough to regulate body temp without sweating and it made the snow and ice on the trail melt as we were hiking which required extra energy. The last half mile or so gains topo quickly and we were hoping the clouds would break but as it turned out we climbed the tower and couldn't see more than 20 feet away. It seemed like ti would be a fun trail normally and we know the views are supposed to be good so we'll just need to visit again. 3.0 hours RT.
