Ascent Trip Report

To access Oak Hill in Washington, NH, I parked off Faxon Hill Rd. near a gate with white MSG blazes, then I walked around the gate and followed a woods road. It went downhill for a distance and then turned sharp left into the woods, entering New Hampshire Forestry Foundation land. The Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway continued at an easy grade through some nice woods, progressively getting steeper until I got to some logging slash. The trail cut through it, went up a series of steep slopes, and I soon reached the top of 1,959 ft. Oak Hill.

Scars of logging were all over the place, but the views were excellent (due to the logging). Mounts Lovewell, Ascutney, and Monadnock were all visible, as well as some mountains over in Vermont and minor hills in the area. Took a quick rest stop on top and then headed back down the way I came.
